Scoring Bombs

‎03/‎08/‎2014 7:53:40 AM

Here's what we can describe to the week that was in the basketball world: bunch of scoring barrages (at least for the nth time).

First, we'll highlight this huge scoring efforts from Charlotte's big man Al Jefferson. He had a 38-point, 19-rebound performance against the Miami Heat. Now, clearly, he is on the verge of breaking out again anytime soon, which is good. Well, the Bobcats really needed that, considering they will have a winning run sooner or later.

And he followed it up with another surprise performance of 34 points and a much surprising win over the East leader Indiana Pacers. Yes, they may lead the conference, but they were on a losing streak either.

After his 54 points some few weeks ago, Kevin Durant fired another huge contest again. 42 points. In a team where offense comes in flurry variety of ways, KD's numbers aren't really surprising. But the idea where he's doing it more recent, and with other players stepping up, he's just the typical standout out there. The performance even overshadowed a quick triple double by point guard Russell Westbrook. Say, the 0 guy can already had more assists as his partner scorer can really nail buckets like that.

How does it feel if you are the opposing team and then, they played with aggressive on you? Though nothing deeper on its intention, it seems to be that way. Look at this statistic: 52 free throws made out of their 64 attempts in the game. The credit actually goes to the Minnesota Timberwolves for their physical play which prompted their opponent the Denver Nuggets to foul them for almost every single time. The final result is 134-128 in favor of Kevin Love's crew. He and Kevin Martin were accountable for near-half of the entire franchise's free throws during the said contest. The duo even dominated the free throw aspect over the Nuggets itself. WOW.

And come to think that it seems to be rare to notice we can only witness the scoreboard racking 126 and above that way. The typical highest we used to see was just around 125 as the highest.

Phoenix Suns' Gerald Green just had a breakout game of his NBA career too. How about the guy scoring his personal high 41 points or an array of trey bombs and tomahawks? Some kind of nasty, eh?

And finally, how about this? A career high for LeBron James for scoring perfromance since the time he was at the Cleveland Cavaliers? It was also a franchise record. His 61 points oveshadowed Glen Rice's feat in the 90s and Bron's 56 (or 57) points of his won during his first eight seasons with then the hyped-driven Cavs. It just came short of the 62 points Carmelo Anthony scored a few months ago though.  The irony is that both came at the expense of one team: the Charlotte Bobcats. Well, maybe a pure coincidence anyway.

Well, can they blame the first week of March for having individual skyrocketing scoring performaces? Well, you can't. Face it. At some point in the basketball history, it was during the econd day of March in the year 1962 when the Big Dipper did the unthinkable on that era: scoring 100 points. He had 31 of them during the fourth quarter to finish as the only player in the association to score triple digits in a single game. How about that? He had 69 in the game, and Kobe Bryant came close to that mark during the times where he was still wearing jersey number 8.

Tapos Na Ang G2B, Eh Ano Ngayon?

03/‎07/‎2014 9:49:48 PM

Ayan na, tapos na sila!!!

Kaso... eh ano ngayon? (HOY PUCHA SLICKMASTER, MANOOD KA NAMAN NITO PAG MAY TIME!)

LECHE! Wag nyo kong pilitin manood nyan.

They'll find a way para lang magtrend sila.

May dapat pa nga bang pagtalunan? Kung wala na... okay. "Hoy, bruha! Ilipat mo nga yan sa (insert channel here).

Throwback: Tribute To Francis Magalona

3/6/2014 2:04:04 PM

It’s been six years when his untimely death shocked us. Mainstream fans, hip-hoppers, real artists, whoever you are. At least for once you appreciated his KALEIDOSCOPE WORLD under those THREE STARS AND A SUN; when he, a MAN FROM MANILA, wanted a GIRL like you to BE MINE (or should I say, “Be with him”). He really has a WHOLE LOTTA LOVIN' to warm those COLD SUMMER NIGHTS.

Yeah, talk about some kind of ‘reference bars,’ eh?

Here’s the thing. I can’t help but to watch this tribute clip for over and over again. And it’s really good.
Gloc-9 showed his passion right there. What a fitting tribute. Forget the bad-ass move that Andrew E made there. Hip-hop may have that ‘rap battle’ thing to outwit the others; but it doesn’t mean that the culture is meant to be violent.

I’m not a hip-hopper but I do believe in music, that it can bind every human being with love and respect.
Let’s set the shit aside for a while. Here’s Gloc-9, Andrew E, Hi-C, and Ron Henley on this Eat Bulaga special dated March 7, 2009 (Yes, it was a Saturday).

Rest in Peace, Master Rapper. Long live the rap music!

Sisihin Ang Kalsada?

03/‎05/‎2014 ‎12:44:54 PM

Teka, tama ba? Sisihin mo ang skyway dahil nahulog ka? Sabagay, may mala-bangin na paligid kasi eh. Ika nga, elevated highway.

Pero... ano ulit? TAMA BANG SISIHIN ANG KALSADA?

Eh teka ba.

As in nagbayad ka ba ng buwis?

May kamalayan? May diskarte?

Isip-isip din pag may time bago mamintang ha?

The Review: Lego Movie

2/22/2014 3:25:10 PM

Hmm, since I was a kid, LEGO used to be one of my ultimate favourite toys (aside from Matchbox and its Asian version, TOMICA, of course) But Lego was more popular than anyone else, unless you’re a girl and of course, Barbie used to be the hit for you female kids out there.

But, a building block toy, turned out to be a movie? Say, it’s like I’ve been waiting this for more than a decade and a half from my imagination. Or did anyone like saw this coming before?

Look, they got a video game thru playstation, and personal computer, and a Danish amusement park. So, who can deny this thing’s ascension to popularity?

Yes’ they’ve got a flick, they followed the likes of Barbie fairy tales, G.I. Joe action figures, Transformers, and I won’t be surprised if there’s any other similar matter who will follow the suit. Come on, let’s face it. That’s the trend we had.

But outside looking in, the movie did not do much the same level on its soundtrack. Maybe because it helped me think for too much, and too much is obviously, not good for anyone’s health. But anyway, the music is entertaining. Oh, yeah. Everything is awesome.

Perhaps they used multiple approaches when it comes on putting up this Lego movie, there’s ‘stuff animation’ (similar to puppet), there’s 3D-post production graphics, the typical one, and real live action stuff. Hmm, tough way to do the execution part, eh?

But maybe if there’s something I cannot understand on the shallow aspect, there are some findings on the deeper side of life: yes, everything is awesome. I mean, we are the master builders of our own respective lives. We may don’t have that LEGO brick to build everything literally, but every single time, we used to build something that seemed matter to us. Of course, I’m on a deep excavation mode yet again. We build our dreams, we build that into reality, and we’re living it if we’re fulfilled.

And also, the prophecy is just man-made. In other words, if we believed on it, it will just manipulate us. What I’m saying is that it’s all in our mind whether we are the one who will be destined to do something greatness or just destroy it and think other’s works is just a piece of crap.

Let’s face it. We can’t appreciate our own work if we think we are the ones who had done it. Let’s face it, every single one of us has this much capability to be at its best, and others way better than us. You know I’m saying? It’s like you brag to yourself “I’m the most handsome guy in the world, while in fact it’s very obvious someone is looking better than you are.” If we can only set aside our own insecurities and start appreciating the ones whom are appreciating you the most (does it sound complicated by the way?)

Nonetheless, it’s still entertaining as shit.

Yes, everything is really awesome. Damn!

Match of The Year?!: #1 — The SHIELD vs. The Wyatt Family

2/28/2014 11:00:58 AM

Meanwhile, as I saw the entire list of clashes in the Sunday’s Elimination Chamber, I think this battle goes down as one of the World Wrestling Entertainment’s epic matches of the year 2014.

Seriously, it is.
I know, it’s just seven weeks in the year; but do I need to explain how these hounds-versus-cults battle needs to be proved as one?

Look at that. Two groups whom the WWE universe described them both as the “heels” in the cast. One of them goes as if they want to put the word ‘justice’ at their own bare knuckles; while another used to take things in such creepy ways.

And they are assaulting superstars no matter how tough and aged they are.

But this time around, they had their hands full against each other.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan, and Luke Harper versus Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose.

Six bad-ass people divided into two toughie-trios for just one horrendous match.

Well, indeed was a great one.

But if you ask me on ‘what’s best for business,’ I can only put a suggestion: thrown the marbles on Wrestlemania, and make it a ‘no-holds barred’ battle.

Believe me, they will just boom more than the anticipated Orton-Batista clash for the WWE World Heavyweight title, especially in that huge, huge venue called Superdome in the Big Easy? Rating going high on both pay-per-view, the WWE network, the fans seeing the action live, and even the Twitter feed in the US. And they can even top that one against another streak-on-the-roll match for the Undertaker. Seriously.

Besides, people love seeing antagonists going at it on another. No wonder the universe called their feud the match of the night, right? Yes, much better than the main event himself, or even the escalating altercation between Batista and Alberto Del Rio.

Tirada Ni SlickMaster: Chismax Overload

2/24/2014 9:10:08 PM

Sobra-sobra pa sa pagiging blown out of proportion.

Let’s get fucking real here, ano po, mga itoy at ineng?

Oo., dahil ganun talaga.

Tama ang mamang nagsabi ng “Poor people talk about other people,” at sa kaso natin, hindi lang tayo poor (in general). Eh ano?

As in SKWATER lang.

Basura.

Ampaw.

Kaya p’wede ba? Na tama na ’yan? Utang sa boundary naman oh!

Enough of excessive publicity, please?

NGANGA !

In short... olats.

Sipain kita d’yan eh.
